Often when people become interested in personal improvement or self help, they have difficulty coming up with a plan that’s right for them. After all there is so much content on the market, how do you know which products and courses to invest in and how to fit them all together into your own personal development plan?

Here are some simple, effective tips to help you come up with a winning personal development plan that will lead to the fulfillment of all your goals and a higher quality of life in all areas.

First of all, I want to emphasize: Be open to a wide range of material!

Don’t limit yourself to just one niche or author. You’ll derive the most benefit by exposing yourself to numerous perspectives and systems and then making up your own mind on the exact nature of your personal program. Your goal may be to lose weight, but you’ll still benefit immensely from the personal mastery tactics found in many business books. Or you may be looking primarily for marketing advice, but spiritual growth courses will provide you with a ton of applicable wisdom for enhancing your promotions. Keep an open mind and absorb content from a number of quality sources.

And it’s critical that you take your time to honestly evaluate and follow the insights you receive. Don’t dismiss anything as ineffective without putting a serious effort into the application.

With that said, here are your 3 initial steps for building an ideal personal development plan.

Step One: Take A Good Honest Look At Yourself And Your Goals

Before you can make real progress you must fully understand what you have to work with and where you want to go. Be crystal clear not only about your specific goals, but also about the exact nature of your needs, your current strengths and weaknesses, and your actual level of commitment toward change.

Take the time to evaluate yourself, paying special attention to any problem areas where you know improvement is needed. Be as objective as possible and make some notes about your core weaknesses and flaws. Also jot down your main strengths and talents. For best results get feedback from someone else, preferably a person who knows you but isn’t afraid to give you some candid input.

Next spend some time looking at the precise nature of your initial goals. Exactly what is it you want to achieve?

Are there multiple levels and layers to your objectives? Can your main goal be broken down into the ultimate, long-term target and a few mid-range and short term goals? Obviously this can all be changed later once you learn more about effective goal setting, and about what you really want; what matters is that you put a good effort into following through with your concept of personal growth and development.

Step Two: Accept Responsibility And Commit Totally!

Once you know where you are in terms of current capability and condition and you know where you’d like to go, it’s time to step up and take charge. Understand and accept fully that if you are to be successful it’s up to you!

Certainly you’ll need some help along the way, but it’s on you in most cases to ask for it, and to decide which advice to take and which input to leave for someone else. The old saying “If it’s to be it’s up to me” is absolutely accurate!

Furthermore, you must reach deep down within yourself and commit 100% to the fulfillment of your personal development plan. If you commit only partially you will almost certainly fail.

THINK BIG and rise to the occasion by setting aside the time to really charge yourself up over your new direction. Write yourself a few powerful positive affirmations and create one or more motivational rituals to generate the absolute, unwavering confidence you need to say “Yes! I absolutely will do this no matter what the cost and regardless of the obstacles I encounter!”

Lack of proper commitment is one of the biggest reasons for failure in any endeavor. When things begin to get a bit difficult, most folks bail out and fall back on their excuses.

Know for a fact things may get difficult. Understand you’ll probably even fall on your butt once or twice.

It’s quite normal to struggle between the moment you decide on a goal and the moment you celebrate your victory. While true success is often effortless and fluid, it usually takes a few bumps and dings to reach the realization that aligns you with this effortlessness.

As long as you have a strong commitment to keep going no matter what you will reach your finish line. And at that point it’s important to engage the third step in this article…

Step Three: Think Process Rather Than Event

It’s a serious rush when you meet your goal. In fact your body actually releases endorphins to create a sort of “high” whenever you attain something after setting your mind and working hard for it.

However if you don’t have another goal lined up, you may soon find yourself adrift in a strange state of apathy and confusion. This is definitely not what you want to experience after seeing your commitment through to completion. So the real key to a winning personal development plan is to understand that growth and improvement of self is a lifelong process, and not a one-time event!

There will always be new challenges and there is always room for even more improvement!

If this sounds like hard work to you, it’s likely that you’re not cut out for serious personal development. On the other hand, if you get excited about the idea of always learning, growing, and expanding into the next better version of yourself, congratulations!

The truth is, most of us who take our personal development seriously started out with just one or two goals. But once we got really involved we soon found ourselves healthily addicted to the idea of being the best person possible.

Once you start with a well-laid personal development plan you’ll probably never want to stop. You’ll come up with new objectives and new strategies and you’ll spend your days setting a positive example for the young people who follow behind you.

This article is of course only one perspective on how to formulate a positive, effective formula for lasting personal development. I hope you’ll give this insight a try in your own life and let me know how it works for you, but always remember to add your own dose of creativity to whatever you’re doing.

I personally enjoy mixing and matching tactics from various experts and then throwing one or more of my own ideas into the mix. It’s a lot of fun and it allows me try a full range of concepts until I nail the perfect solution to a given challenge.

For a variety of reasons it’s difficult for most people to imagine themselves enjoying spectacular success. The majority of individuals tend to assume that amazing stories of personal success are reserved for other people.

This is pretty bizarre and unreasonable when you think about it. We’re all “other people” from someone’s perspective, right?

A great technique for shifting your perspective is to put yourself in the center of your favorite success stories. Imagine how it would feel to make your first million dollars, win a bodybuilding competition, become a best-selling author, or attain whatever victory meets your ideal of true success.

The reality is you are every bit as capable of great success as any other person on the planet. You might need additional training, education, or experience to get from where you are now to where you’d rather be, but these are all things you can acquire with a small amount of time and commitment.

In my late teens and early twenties I had the privilege of training with a world-class martial arts master; the assistant instructor was also a national champion. Everything about the school and the system vibrated excellence. Both of my instructors had a saying for putting their incredible talents into perspective: “I’ve got two arms and two legs just like you.”

The implication is pretty simple. It’s much like the old cliché that even our heroes “put their pants on one leg at a time”. Individuals who exhibit extraordinary success in any field are human beings; they don’t have any magical powers and they’re not blessed with supernatural abilities.

It’s important to recognize and accept this fact. Resist the urge to make excuses and point out how the successful people you read about all have some kind of unfair advantage over you; i.e. better genetics, a wealthy family, a better childhood, or whatever.

The time-honored tradition of defending mediocrity with excuses about such advantages goes back at least to ancient Greece. In those days the heroes from the culture’s favorite stories were all the children of Zeus or some other deity, the idea being that no mere mortals could be capable of such bravery and skill.

Modern-day excuses are less elaborate but every bit as far-fetched.

While some athletes may be blessed with genetic talents, disciplined training will always overcome natural ability. Many champion competitors, including the great Michael Jordan, were not gifted at an early age with their winning capabilities.

And the overwhelming majority of wealthy entrepreneurs do not come from old money, or wealthy families. Far and away more business superstars come from middle class and even poor homes.

When you open your eyes and take an honest look at the folks who are living the success you crave you’ll find they are very much like you. By this token there is absolutely no good reason whatsoever to deny yourself the thrill and triumph of excelling in your chosen field.

If you were handed a million dollars, how would you live the next year? After you bought a new car, maybe a big house, gave some money to charity, and so forth, how would you spend your time if money were no object and you had complete freedom to do what you want?

Would you quit your job?

Would you move to another state?

If you had no need to work for a living and could do whatever you like with your days, how would you plan and use your time? This is really important, so please take a few minutes to be honest with yourself.

If you still find yourself crunching the numbers, wondering if a million would really set you free, make it ten million. The point of this exercises is: What would your life look like in terms of your regular activity, lifestyle, and commitments if were 100% free from any financial or work-related stress?

Create a detailed vision that reflects your answer. Ideally you’ll write this down.

And once you know what you would do if time and money were not pressing concerns, you’ll need to answer my next question:

Why aren’t you already doing all the things you want to do right now?

Understandably you might not immediately be able to invest in your $300,000 dream car. But remember, this million dollar question is really about your daily work, activities, and lifestyle.

So if your first answer was “I’d quit my job”, I think it’s only right to ask yourself why you’re keeping a job you obviously don’t like.

Especially in the U.S., and from what I can tell in many other places as well, people suffer their entire lives under the burden of obligation. They work a crappy job they hate because they need money to live on, or they get married because their parents tell them it’s sinful to have a mate who isn’t under contract.

It’s both amazing and sad what people are willing to put themselves through in the name of obligation. According to Dr. Nick Hall, an alarming number of med students openly admit during their final years of training that they have little or no desire to be doctors; they are committing their entire lives to a career their parents wanted for them!

The same kind of perverse nonsense can be seen in most military academies or basic training depots. Many people join the armed forces because their fathers and grandfathers served, and they have been pressured since childhood to do the same.

On a less dramatic scale, how many people do you know who have told you hundreds of times how badly they hate their jobs, and yet they keep going back! Maybe you’re in a similar situation yourself.

Think about how crazy this is.

There is tremendous social pressure to think and act in a manner consistent with some vague idea of what it means to be a “good citizen”. As a result, millions (billions?) of people are going through the motions of life, dead in every sense of the word long before their heart stops beating.

Look again at the things you said you’d do with a million dollars. Compare this to your current life and demand of yourself a good answer for why you should keep leading a life that’s not what you want.

As I’ve said many times before, heaven and reincarnation are both fine ideas but there is no proof of either. This could be your only shot at being you, so I urge you strongly to make the most of the experience!

People make such a big, dramatic deal of small decisions like leaving a job or ending an unhappy marriage. Honestly if someone is that determined to suffer I guess they’re entitled to their misery.

But because most people actively complain about the negative circumstances in their life I am compelled as a writer to continuously make these simple points:

Life is about being happy right now. Waiting to have a fulfilling life is ludicrous and depraved.

You should be living from your true values, and not by principles that please other people.

Finding your life’s purpose is mission critical #1. From their it’s all fun and games!

To be fair, I realize many of my readers are already living on purpose and doing exactly what they want. So please don’t take this post as condescending in any way.

I believe most of us, even when we are living our bliss, can benefit from the “million dollar question” exercise. I play a variation of this little game with myself often just to be sure I’m on track.

The version I use is called the “magic wand game”. I ask myself: if I could wave a magic wand over every area of my life and have things exactly as I want them, what would the results look like?

This helps me be certain I’m not settling for “reasonable” or “realistic”, and that I’m indeed pursuing my heart’s inspiration. I hope this concept resonates strongly with you, and that you’ll find ways to enhance your life using questions and games of this nature.

I’ve always admired the work of Brian Tracy, and I intend to share his insights often with readers of this blog. In the following article Tracy shares the five basic ways to become wealthy and tells you which method is the best.

The Five Roads to Financial Success in America and How to Choose Your Own

There are basically five ways that you can become wealthy starting with nothing in America based on over 25 years of research into American millionaires. Number one, you can inherit it. Less than 10 percent of wealthy Americans inherited any of their money, and it’s less and less every single year.

The Second Way

The second way that you can become wealthy is you can achieve it professionally. You can become a doctor or a lawyer or an architect or an accountant. You can become extremely good at what you do, be paid very well, and hold on to the money.

The Third Way

The third way you can achieve it is you can become a senior executive of a large corporation. You can be highly paid; you can have stock options and bonuses. And if you stay with the company long enough, for enough years, you can be paid enough to become wealthy.

The Fourth Way

You can win it. But only a tiny fraction of one percent of wealthy Americans got that way by winning their money some way or another. As a matter of fact, the odds against you winning the lottery are the equivalent of lightning striking twice in the same place. They’re millions and millions to one.

The Best Way

The fifth way that you can become wealthy is you can start your own business and earn it all by yourself. Starting your own business has been and will always be the high road to becoming wealthy for most self-made millionaires. Entrepreneurship in America offers more opportunities and opens more doors than all other possibilities put together. This is why it has been said that if you have the ability to start your own business and you don’t do it, you are a fool. I’ll repeat that. If you have the ability to start your own business and you don’t do it, you’re a fool.

Where do you start?

You start by getting your finances under control. The very first thing you do is you make a decision to get your finances under control. Some years ago, a man named George Classon wrote a book called The Richest Man in Babylon. It’s a classic on financial success and what Classon said in that book was that the key to becoming wealthy is to pay yourself first. Take ten percent off your earnings, off your gross income every month and put it aside. Learn to live on ninety percent or less of your gross income. So the very first thing that you do is you begin to save your money.

Action Exercises

Now, here are two things you can do immediately to put yourself onto the high road to personal wealth:

First, resolve today to begin saving your money a little bit at a time. Set a goal to save 10% of your earnings, to put it away and to never touch it. This will change your life.

Second, immediately register your own business or sole proprietorship. Open a bank account, get business cards and letterhead and create the corporate entity under which you can do business. Your business opportunities will appear far sooner than you think. If you build it, they will come.

For more priceless wealth building insights from Brian Tracy, plus the opportunity to win $500 be sure to click the book image now.

I highly recommend anything in Brian Tracy’s catalog, from print books and audio courses to DVD presentations, multi-media home study course, and full-blown personal consultation. This personal development expert has been studying millionaires and business success for the past 25 years, and therefore has a wealth of innovative strategies and techniques to share.

I’ve enjoyed many of his lectures and complete programs and picked up numerous effective strategies and tactics from him over the years.

One of the more interesting tactics he promotes is called “Back from the future thinking”. This is a powerful combination of visualization and goal-setting that I highly recommend.

Essentially here’s how this method works…

Take the time to vividly imagine your life as you want it to be five years into the future. See every detail of every aspect exactly the way you want it.

What kind of work will you do?

How much money will you have?

Where will you live?

What kind of home will you have?

Who will live with you in this home?

What will you do for fun and satisfaction?

How will you impact society through charity, philanthropy, etc.?

Leave nothing out! And once you’ve captured your ideal vision write it out (or type it up); go ahead and take a couple of pages so you can account for every detail.

When you have a clear, exciting picture of everything you want your life to be, start the process of thinking backwards from this ideal vision toward where you are now. Through this process of imagination you’ll begin to identify how you arrived at your dream life from your current position.

You’ll start to develop ideas and receive inspiration. Opportunities and ideas will emerge, many of which have been hiding in plain sight for some time now.

Do this exercise on a regular basis and soon you’ll be able to see clearly a powerful plan that will take you from where you are now to where you most want to be five years into the future!

Not only is this practice highly productive in terms of organizing a serious life plan, it’s a real confidence builder and it’s loads of fun. And this is just one of many amazing goal setting tips from Brian Tracy.

True personal development is a process, not an event.

In today’s fast food society people demand instant solutions to problems they have created through poor thinking and sorry habits over the course of many years. Furthermore very few people who claim to want change actually want any such thing.

The sad reality is most people want the benefits of change handed to them right now, and without any effort required on their part. As a writer in the personal development field it’s difficult to be compassionate and understanding when so many people have an absolutely infantile idea of what it means to improve the self.

Obviously most readers of this blog are a cut above weak-minded, mainstream thinking.

It’s important that we always recognize that any change or improvement will be a multi-part process. We can experience great quantum leaps where we appear to literally jump from one state of being into an entirely new and improved state, but this normally occurs after significant revelation and a genuine paradigm shift.

Whether we’re looking to lose weight, hone our listening skills, make more money, or control our temper, what we are really expressing is the desire to evolve, and to become a better human being.

It is for this reason that people often continue their quest for personal development long after they’ve attained the initial goal that brought them into the field of literature. Most of us find very quickly that our innermost desire is to be our personal best and expand into a new self who is far greater than anything we previously imagined possible.

Personal improvement, or personal development if you prefer, is a lifelong journey that never ends. The joy and the triumph are in the constant learning and growth.

This article is another perspective for folks who are interested in starting an online business venture. There are actually many ways to go about this and it’s a good idea to spend a month reading and researching before taking the leap.

Having said this, if at any time you feel a surge of genuine inspiration you should take action on those feelings!

The decision to start your own Internet business requires motivation, an open mind, and a desire to better yourself. So if you’ve already arrived at the decision to move forward with the idea, congratulations!

This brief article will give you an overview of how to start your own Internet business. It is then recommended that you check out the resource box for more specific information pertaining to your exact business blueprint.

Start Your Own Internet Business: Step 1

The first thing you’ll need to do is define your core objectives. Do you want to generate x amount of extra cash flow per month, offset your vehicle payments, or quit your day job?

Decide exactly why you want to start your own Internet business in the first place and write this down. You may even want to display your core objective in a prominent place in your home office so you can refer back to it if the going gets tough.

Start Your Own Internet Business: Step 2

The second step is to determine realistically how much time and money you can allot to launching and maintaining your business. Can you devote two hours per day, 40 hours each week, or weekends only? And are you prepared to invest $50 per month, $200 one-time, or $500 now and $100 per month thereafter? Whatever you can/will afford in terms of time and money should be noted in the beginning.

The figures above are totally hypothetical. There are no clear right and wrong time and money requirements, although the more you are willing and able to invest the more likely you will be to succeed.

Start Your Own Internet Business: Step 3

Your third step is to decide whether you’ll get help or go it alone. Is there another person you’d like to partner with? Are you willing to invest in a home study course or hire a mentor? Or are you willing to research your own study material and run the whole show yourself? This is totally your decision to make, and should be based on your personal preference and objectives.

Start Your Own Internet Business: Step 4

Your fourth step is to decide what kind of business you’ll launch. This might take some time to figure out.

You can start by making a list of your skills and interests. Then come up with a few possible business ideas for each listed item.

At this time all you need is a general idea or two. You’ll prove or disprove the worth of each idea in the next step.

Start Your Own Internet Business: Step 5

Your fifth step is to research the validity of your idea(s). You’ll want to find out if there is a real market for your new business idea, i.e. whether or not there are people willing and able to spend money for products and services related to your idea.

You can use a keyword research tool to find out if people are online seeking products and services like yours. These utilities are not perfect, but they give you a great starting point.

And of course you can have a look at what existing businesses are doing, relative to your ideas. If you can spot a few good-looking sites already selling products and services along the lines of what you’d like to do, this means a paying market already exists; congratulations.

Start Your Own Internet Business: Step 6

Your sixth step is to decide how much of the work you’ll tackle yourself, and what you will outsource to professionals. Will you build your own Website, or hire a pro to do this for you? Will you write your own ads and sales letters or commission a copywriter for these tasks. Will you handle customer support or get a help team to take care of this for you? You may want to do everything yourself at first, but you should look into getting some help as soon as possible.

Start Your Own Internet Business: Step 7

Your seventh and final step is to roll up your sleeves and get to work! This is where most people fail. Planning and talking about your venture is one thing, but whether or not you’re ready for real action will determine your ultimate success or failure.

Just remember being an entrepreneur is about always learning and growing. So get out there and start moving the ball forward, but know you can always ask for help or invest in new education along the way.

While there are numerous strategies for personal development and a wide range of tactics to help you succeed in specific areas of your life, there is in fact one key ingredient you’ll need before anything else will help:

You MUST have or develop some degree of self discipline before you can success in anything!

In today’s fast food culture it’s hard for people to accept this. Everyone wants a quick fix that involves no effort, and that’s precisely why most people live in mediocrity and failure.

The following article by Goal Setting and Self Discipline expert Brian Tracy puts the subject of self-discipline into perfect perspective:

Self-Discipline for Success
By: Brian Tracy

There is one special quality that you can develop that will guarantee you greater success, accomplishment and happiness in life. Of a thousand principles for success developed over the ages, this one quality or practice will do more to assure that you accomplish wonderful things with your life than anything else. This quality is so important that, if you don’t develop it to a high degree, it is impossible for you to ever achieve what you are truly capable of achieving.

The quality that I am talking about is the quality of self-discipline. It is a habit, a practice, a philosophy and a way of living. All successful men and women are highly disciplined in the important work that they do. All unsuccessful men and women are undisciplined and unable to control their behaviors and their appetites. And when you develop the same levels of high, personal discipline possessed by the most successful people in our society, you will very soon begin to achieve the same results that they do.

All great success in life is preceded by long, sustained periods of focused effort on a single goal, the most important goal, with the determination to stay with it until it is complete. Throughout history, we find that every man or woman who achieved anything lasting and worthwhile, had engaged in long, often unappreciated hours, weeks, months and even years of concentrated, disciplined work, in a particular direction.

Fortunately the quality of self-discipline is something that you can learn by continuous practice, over and over, until you master it. Once you have mastered the ability to delay gratification, the ability to discipline yourself to keep your attention focused on the most important task in front of you, there is virtually no goal that you cannot accomplish and no task that you cannot complete.

Successful people engage in activities that are goal-achieving. Unsuccessful people engage in activities that are tension-reliving. Successful people discipline themselves to have dinner before dessert. Unsuccessful people prefer to have dessert most of the time.

Successful people plan their work, and work their plan. They take the time to think through their responsibilities before they begin. They make clear decisions which they then implement immediately. They get a lot more done in a shorter period of time than the average person. And it all has to do with their disciplines.

Perhaps the most important benefit of self-discipline is the personal benefit that you receive. Every act of self-discipline increases your self-esteem. It gives you a feeling of personal power and accomplishment. Each time you discipline yourself to persist in the face of distractions, diversions, and disappointments, you feel better about yourself. As you continue to discipline yourself, you achieve more and more in life. As you achieve more things, you feel more like a winner. Your self-confidence goes up. You feel happier about yourself. You get more done and you have more energy. You earn the respect and esteem of the people around you. You get more rapid promotions and are paid more money. You live in a nicer house, drive a nicer car, and wear nicer clothes. You get a natural high from the thrill of achievement. And the more things that you achieve as the result of employing your personal habits of effectiveness and productivity, the more eager you are to achieve even higher and better tasks. Your life gets onto an upward spiral of success and happiness. You feel great about yourself most of the time.

Every act of self-discipline strengthens every other discipline in your life. Every weakness of self-discipline weakens your other disciplines as well. When you make a habit of disciplining yourself in little things, like flossing your teeth every night, you’ll soon become able to discipline yourself to accomplish even larger things, like working long, long hours to bring a major task to completion.

Your entire life is an on-going battle between the forces of doing what is right and necessary on the one hand and doing what is fun and easy on the other hand. It is a battle between the forces of discipline and the forces of ease or expediency. And when you develop the strength of character that gives you complete self-mastery, self-control and self-discipline, you feel wonderful about yourself. You develop a deep inner sense of strength and confidence. You replace positive thinking with positive knowing. You reach the point inside where you absolutely know that you can do whatever it takes to achieve any goal that you can set for yourself.

Self-discipline is its own reward. Not only does it pay off in terms of greater self-esteem and a more positive mental attitude, but it pays off throughout your life in terms of the goals that you achieve and the success that you attain in everything you do.

Self-discipline is a skill and a habit that can be learned by practice. Every time you practice a little self-discipline, you become stronger and stronger. Bit by bit, you become more capable of even greater disciplines. As you become a totally self-disciplined individual, your entire future opens up in front of you like a broad highway. Everything becomes possible for you and your future becomes unlimited.

Please click the image below to discover the tools for creating unlimited self-discipline and enjoying the rewards that follow:

This information will help bring all other aspects of personal improvement into focus. Once you have the drive and discipline to use your time wisely you’ll be able to put the many things you learn from various sources into actual practice!

I heard an interview a couple of days before I wrote this article where the guy being interviewed said “There are three kinds of people - thinkers, walkers, and talkers…” It made me stop and think and I believe the reflections are worth sharing.

In reality, there are probably more like a billion kinds of people on this planet. I’ve never been a fan of categorization and black and white questions about “what kind of person are you”.

However…

Sometimes we need to create results in our life. Maybe it’s business, romance, or just some personal need we want to fulfill in our lives but there are definitely times when we need to plan, execute, and measure.

So for purposes of those times in life when results matter, I think it’s fair to say there are three basic types of people:

First we have the thinkers. These are the day dreaming what-ifers who spend most of their time conceptualizing, making lists, etc. Some of their ideas are great but most of the time that’s as far as they get in the creative process.

Being a thinker alone isn’t going to get you much in terms of accomplished goals. Planning and writing down what you want are great steps, but these tactics are no end in themselves.

Then there are the talkers. Talkers may or may not think before opening their mouth, but they are essentially a step above folks who just plan and make lists.

These types are very interactive about their ideas and objectives. Every time you see them they have a new game plan, and an even better idea than what they were talking about the last time you met.

But as they say, talk is cheap. Sharing ideas with others, brainstorming and networking for instance, can be an very powerful part of any process but if that’s as far as you take it well… it’s not any better than just keeping your mouth shut and making notes.

And finally, for the purpose of this exercise, we have the walkers. These are the action takers in life and the people who spend the time doing and not just thinking and talking.

What’s interesting is that sometimes people think, talk, and then act. But the first two steps are not always necessary.

In reality many times a “walker” will just get up and take action before they realize they had a winning idea on their hands. I’m not trying to downplay the value of making plans and getting feedback from others on your ideas, but if you had to choose from one of the three models illustrated in this article I’d push you toward being a walker.

Trust your intuition and take forward-moving action! Don’t spend all your time thinking or talking about something you want when right now is the best time to DO just about anything on your objective list.

I’ve thought, talked, and walked a good deal in my life but when I’ve been truly inspired and really wanted something with all of my being I have found myself in motion before ever taking the time to brainstorm or chat about the issue.

This is perhaps the ultimate power.

People have survived prison camps by controlling what they thought and felt about. Humans have withstood great physical pain and horrific circumstances with focused intention.

On a less dramatic scale, you have probably used the power of directed thought in your own life to deal with a miserably boring job. Most of us have, at some point, worked a job we hated; and we typically dealt with the workday by allowing our minds to be elsewhere.

This simple example can be used to explore the real power of thought, and especially the power of positive thinking. Your ability to create your own reality and to use the law of attraction to manifest the life you want begins with the simple direction of your everyday thoughts and feelings.

I believe we are the co-creators of the Universe. I do believe in the force many people call god, divinity, or creation, but I reject the idea that humans are slaves and/or fodder for an angry and judging deity in the sky.

While our ego minds are not the highest form of consciousness, I believe a part of our minds are entangled with the divine mind. Thus the power of thought is like the force that creates the world around us.

There are many heated debates on this issue. But I submit that details are not the critical consideration here.

It doesn’t really matter how creative manifestation works. It doesn’t really matter if we are impacting the whole of creation or just the dimension we inhabit and refer to as “reality”.

What matters is that through sustained, intentional thought and visualization a human being can produce just about any result he or she desires. Certainly relatively small matters like gaining wealth, healing the self, and attracting the ideal mate are well within our capabilities.

There is value in humility. But I believe we are at a point in human development where it is essential to acknowledge our greatness.

You are the master of your reality and of your destiny. You are what you think about, and your life will follow the course that you hold in your mind’s eye.

It therefore seems reasonable that you should take care to develop positive thinking as a habit. How many great books have been written to the theme of “Change Your Mind To Change Your Life”?

The brain is the super computer of the human machine. And the mind is the elusive observer that determines the outcome of quantum physics experiments.

You have the keys to command your brain/mind, and therefore you have the power to shape your life on all levels.
